Charging and Remissions Policy

The Governing Body has adopted the LA’s policy of charging for school activities.

The most important statements are:

  1. No charges will be made for education provided (including relevant transport, materials, books, instruments and equipment) during school hours except for individual tuition on a musical instrument.
  2. Parents may be invited to make voluntary contributions to finance such things as educational visits.
  3. The 1988 Education Reform Act requires the LA and Governing Bodies to operate a remissions policy for pupils whose parents are in receipt of Income Support, or Income-Based Jobseekers’ Allowance.

The Governors have also decided that parents may be asked to pay towards the cost of repairing or replacing school property which has been damaged as a result of pupil’s behaviour.
