GCSE Results 2019

Students and staff at St Francis Xavier School in Richmond are once again celebrating exceptional exam results. A third of results achieved were at Grade 7 or above (the equivalent of an old Grade A) and many pupils at the school achieved Grade 9’s. In particular the school was very proud that more pupils than ever before had achieved grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

Headteacher Stuart McGhee praised the outstanding work ethic of the students who he says were extremely well taught by a caring and dedicated team of staff.

‘As ever it was moving to see friends, families, teachers and support staff offering congratulations and thanks in equal measure. The day is about the realisation of months of commitment, with many hours of study outside of the classroom, both at home and at extra classes. It is amazing to see our young people grow and develop throughout their time at SFX. They were a lovely year group who have not only achieved wonderful exam results, but who have taken part and excelled in so many aspects of school life. As you can imagine I am totally delighted for the individual students, a number of whom have achieved all 9’s and 8’s, but also for those who have overcome adversity to do so well. It is a privilege to work with young people with such high aspirations and wonderful to see them excelling academically as well as growing spiritually and emotionally in their time with us.  I look forward to hearing more about their successes in the future.
