A taste of university
Meet the 2020- 21 cohort of the Scholars programme!
Twelve Year 10 students have been selected to take part in the National Scholars Programme which is provided by the Brilliant Club, whose aim is to provide students in secondary schools a flavour of what to expect if they decide to embark upon a University education.
Throughout the programme our students will work with a PhD researcher to experience university style learning and ultimately complete a challenging STEM based project. This project will then be marked and moderated using university grades.
The course will run from September until March and during this time we will receive 7 tutorials delivered by our PhD tutor in school. These tutorials will help students involved to develop the skills needed to excel in their next stage of education. Following the completion of the assignment ‘Invertebrate behaviour: An investigation’ the group will then visit two highly selective universities either in person or virtually depending on Covid19 restriction
