St Francis Xavier

Remembrance Day

This morning Year 8 had their Anglican Eucharist, which was led by Rev’d Martin.

Our prayers were written by students in Year 8 focusing on the themes of St Martin, soldiers, peace in our world and those suffering from the trauma of War. Mrs Gardner's form provided music and another student read a passage from Luke 22.

At 11am Year 8 joined the rest of the school in a virtual remembrance service led by Head Students and a talented Year 10 student, who played who played The Last Post. All students observed two minutes of silence.

Mrs Ross-Russell, School Chaplain said:

"It was lovely to be able to tie the Act of Remembrance to our service at 11am and a lovely service all round."

She was also very impressed with the efforts and behaviour of the students "A big well done and thank you to Year 8 for their contributions this morning, we hope it will have been a special time for reflection and encouragement for us all."
